Job Title: Social Worker

Job Location: Guabuliga, Northern Region

Job Summary

  • Reporting to the BRAVEAURORA Project Leader on site, the Social Worker is expected to support other team members in strengthening the organization’s social work related projects and activities
  • The Social Worker must be reliable, detail-oriented, and pro-active
  • It is very important that the Social Worker is able to work well with children and people of diverse age, culture and religion

Job Description

  • Conduct home visits to reintegrating children and their families, engage them in discussions concerning their family and social life and document their needs as well as challenges
  • Act as a responsible social worker representing BRAVEAURORA at all levels and upholding the organization’s ethos
  • Serve as mentor and counselor for the youth who may need personal or social counseling in their lives
  • Play a central role in raising public awareness through the Young Ambassadors Programme on the dangers of institutional care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children
  • Promote collaboration with targeted professional individuals and organizations to promote social work in the region
  • Draft care plans, social enquiry reports, case management notes and document all other reintegration-related activities
  • Engage in relevant social advocacy work that will promote decent, peaceful and harmonious life for all children in BA’s operational areas
  • Supervise BA interns and volunteers of social work

Qualification and Requirements

  • A minimum of a diploma in Social Work or any related degree
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Social Work
  • Skilled in report and proposal writing 
  • Fluent in both written and oral English 
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
