The Wash Up! Programme was designed by Sesame Workshop in collaboration with World Vision International as part of a broader Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) intervention to teach primary school children and the wider society good practices, and improve knowledge and behaviour changes in water sanitation and hygiene, with the aim of preventing neglected tropical diseases such as hookworm (soil transmitted helminths), bilharzia (schistosomiasis) and trachoma in Ghana. PDA provided technical assistance through formative research to aid in testing the effectiveness and appropriateness or otherwise of the Wash Up! Programme curriculum and contents and offered suggestions for improved content and effectiveness.
