Project Snapshot:
PDA coordinated a baseline survey for the Takoradi Technical Institute HIV/AIDS Peer Education Programme. The project involved training a research team in Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) methods, managing a quantitative survey, and compiling a report on the baseline findings. The insights were used to support a proposal submission to the Ghana HIV/AIDS Accelerated Response Fund (GARFUND) and to refine peer educators’ training and reference materials.
Project Objectives:
- Establish baseline data on HIV/AIDS awareness and peer education effectiveness at Takoradi Technical Institute.
- Identify gaps in knowledge and areas for improvement in the peer education programme.
- Support the development of proposals and training materials for enhanced programme implementation.
PDA’s Task:
PDA was responsible for training the research team, coordinating the quantitative survey, analyzing the data, and preparing the baseline report. PDA also provided technical assistance in proposal writing and edited training manuals.
How We Went About It:
