Project Snapshot:
PDA was contracted to conduct a comprehensive community burns survey across 7 regions in Ghana (Northern, Upper East, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti, Volta, Central, and Greater Accra). The survey aimed to collect data on the incidence, knowledge, attitudes, and practices surrounding burns, with the goal of informing the development of targeted advocacy and educational materials by InterBurns.
Project Objectives:
- Assess the incidence and impact of burns across different regions.
- Gather insights on community knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to burns.
- Provide a solid evidence base to inform advocacy and the creation of educational resources.
PDA’s Task:
PDA managed the full research process, including training field research teams, overseeing data collection, ensuring quality control, and compiling a comprehensive data analysis report.
How We Went About It:
- Team Training: Trained field researchers on technical and ethical data collection methods.
- Field Monitoring: Monitored data collection to ensure adherence to quality standards and timelines.
- Data Management: Performed data entry, cleaning, and analysis to ensure accuracy.
- Reporting: Prepared a concise data analysis report to guide InterBurns’ advocacy and education efforts.
