Project Snapshot:
In collaboration with Ibis Organisation Capacity Building staff, PDA designed and facilitated a two-module, 3-day residential training programme targeting key staff of ILGS and Ibis’ Public Participation in Local Governance Programme. The training focused on enhancing facilitation skills and promoting effective public engagement in local governance initiatives.
Project Objectives:
- Build capacity in facilitation skills for effective public participation.
- Enhance strategic planning and community engagement among local governance practitioners.
- Foster practical skill development through interactive training modules.
PDA’s Task:
PDA co-designed the training curriculum and facilitated the residential sessions, using participatory methods to ensure practical skill acquisition among participants.
How We Went About It:
- Curriculum Development: Collaborated with Ibis staff to design a comprehensive two-module training programme.
- Interactive Training: Utilized group exercises, case studies, and hands-on facilitation practice over a 3-day residential period.
- Skill Application: Guided participants through practical exercises to apply facilitation techniques in public participation contexts.
