Project Snapshot:
PDA co-facilitated a two-day stakeholder workshop for IUCN and WEDO, gathering women organizations, gender experts, and policy makers from the forestry and environment sectors. The participatory sessions generated key insights that formed the basis of a Road Map aimed at integrating gender considerations into Ghana’s REDD+ processes.
Project Objectives:
- Mainstream gender considerations within REDD+ processes in Ghana.
- Engage diverse stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities in integrating gender in forestry and environmental policies.
- Develop actionable guidelines for policy makers to support gender-inclusive REDD+ initiatives.
PDA’s Task:
PDA co-facilitated the workshop, coordinating participant engagement and guiding the discussion to ensure that the outcomes could be translated into a comprehensive Road Map.
How We Went About It:
- Workshop Organization: Designed and implemented a two-day participatory workshop with targeted stakeholder groups.
- Facilitated Discussions: Led sessions that encouraged input from women organizations, gender experts, and policy-level actors.
- Documentation: Consolidated the workshop outcomes into a Road Map to guide future gender mainstreaming efforts in REDD+ processes.
