The Secondary Education in Africa (SEA) Project is a study that focuses on gender and social equity in transitions and completion rates of lower secondary school, as well as the quality of education being delivered to meet the future needs of work in Africa. Participatory Development Associates (PDA) has been authorised by Mastercard Foundation to conduct a background study on Secondary Education in Africa on the theme ”Transitions from Primary to Lower Secondary School: A Focus on Equity”. The study which commenced in January 2018 is expected to end in May 2018.
The study forms part of Mastercard Foundation’s Secondary Education in Africa: Preparing Youth for the Future of Work series. PDA is working in Western and Eastern Africa using Ghana and Rwanda as country-specific case studies.
