Participatory Development Associates (PDA) Ltd wishes to congratulate Sabre Trust and GES and their partners for the recognition given to the Fast-Track Transformational Teacher Training (FTTT) programme they have been implementing in Ghana. They were awarded the UNESCO Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers in 2017-2018, details of which can be found here.
In 2012, PDA was part of the development of the CIFF and DFID-funded Government of Ghana Kindergarten Operational Plan that proposed the FTTT, and which was taken up and piloted by Sabre Trust and GES in the Central and Western Regions of Ghana. PDA also did summative evaluation of the FTTT in both regions, and found it to have high impact on both patents’ and children’ interest in education, as well as school level factors. It is heart warming to know that the FTTT has eventually gained global recognition.
