Project Snapshot:
This study aimed to identify the conditions necessary for improving cooperation between traditional authorities and district/sub-district institutions within Ghana’s local government system. By strengthening these relationships, the project sought to enhance effective community governance.
Project Objectives:

PDA’s Task:
PDA conducted research and analysis, facilitated stakeholder engagements, and developed a comprehensive report with strategic recommendations for enhancing collaboration between traditional authorities and district institutions.
How We Went About It:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conducted interviews and focus group discussions with traditional leaders, district assembly representatives, and community members.
- Comparative Analysis: Assessed best practices from other local governance systems to identify replicable models for cooperation.
- Policy Alignment: Ensured that findings aligned with Ghana’s decentralization framework and local governance policies.
- Report Development: Compiled insights into a structured report with actionable recommendations for policy implementation.
