Overview
The PDA Graduate Internship Program (GIP) provides qualified and committed graduates in Ghana with a unique opportunity to contribute to designing, implementing, and managing projects for impact in West Africa. The Program enables early career developers and media production graduates to contribute to the work of PDA in the development sector while learning from industry experts, thus enhancing their skills and competencies and providing them with valuable work experience and networks.
The GIP runs across three (3) main tracks for a renewable period of 6 months for each cohort, starting from July to December 2024. Interns work in an experiential learning environment with interdisciplinary teams on various real-world projects and tasks assigned to them within the organization.
The three (3) tracks for application are:
1. Data Analytics and Visualization: This track focuses on using data to drive insights and decision-making. Interns work with various data sources, applying statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns and trends. They are also responsible for creating visually compelling and informative data visualizations, such as dashboards and reports, to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Interns may work on projects involving predictive modeling, data optimization, and developing data-driven solutions for social impact.
2. Website Programming and Management: Interns in this track are involved in designing, developing, and maintaining websites for PDA and its projects. They work with a range of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Joomla. Responsibilities include creating responsive and user-friendly website layouts, optimizing website performance, supporting maintenance and updates of the website, and ensuring security. Interns collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging web experiences that align with PDA’s mission and objectives.
3. Graphic Design and Multimedia Production: This track is suited for creative individuals who translate data and ideas into visually compelling designs and multimedia content. Interns work on creating infographics, brochures, reports, and other marketing materials that effectively communicate PDA’s work and impact. They are also be involved in producing video content, animations, and interactive media to engage target audiences. Interns use their design skills and knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles to create visually appealing and informative content that supports PDA’s communication and advocacy efforts.
