Project Snapshot:
Participatory Development Associates (PDA) is partnering with Tony’s Chocolonely to implement a Tree Tagging Survey in the Eastern and Ahafo Regions of Ghana, aimed at tagging all the trees of farmers within Tony’s supply chain. This initiative will provide accurate data to support traceability, sustainability efforts, and long-term farmer development.
As part of the process, PDA has:
- Scripted the tree tagging survey tool in both English and French
- Trained 42 Tony’s Chocolonely farm coaches, based in the communities, on using KoboCollect for data collection, research, and enumeration
- Provided data monitoring support
- Overseen data cleaning and management — including monitoring Côte d’Ivoire activities and preparing to clean the data on behalf of Tony’s Chocolonely
This work strengthens transparency within the cocoa supply chain and builds the capacity of local farm coaches to support continuous data-driven decision-making.
