Project Snapshot:
PDA coordinated the planning workshop in Accra in October 2007 as part of a global EBPDN project. This workshop brought together representatives from various organizations to generate the terms of reference for a national-level research study on the effectiveness of Japanese aid in Ghana. The research, undertaken between December 2007 and March 2008, was motivated by Japan’s upcoming role as host and chair of the 2008 G8 meeting. The evidence generated was later integrated into a global synthesis report to influence policy outcomes at the TICAD and G8 meetings.
Project Objectives:
- Generate evidence on the impact and effectiveness of Japanese aid in Ghana.
- Develop a robust term of reference to guide the national research study.
- Contribute data for a global synthesis report aimed at influencing policy discussions at international forums.
PDA’s Task:
PDA was responsible for coordinating and facilitating the initial planning workshop in Accra, ensuring diverse stakeholder engagement and defining the research parameters for the subsequent national study.
How We Went About It:
- Organized a multi-stakeholder planning workshop in Accra in October 2007.
